Lanwades Stud Tour

One of the UK’s leading stud farms will open its gates exclusively for Discover Newmarket for the opportunity to see three leading British stallions. Lanwades Stud is one of the few stallion studs in the UK to be managed by its owner. Enjoy a stallion parade featuring Bobby’s Kitten, Sea the Moon and Study of Man as part of this full-day guided tour.

Your day begins with a morning on the famed Warren Hill Gallops where you will see some of Newmarket’s 3,000 equine residents go about their morning exercise. Then it is off to Bedford Lodge Hotel for morning coffee.

Afterwards, enjoy a short driving tour of Newmarket, passing a number of places of interest and learn more about the history of this internationally renowned town.

Then it is time to visit Lanwades Stud, owned by Kirsten Rausing and one of only a few independently owned Studs in the country. Enjoy a tour of the facilities including a Stallion Parade featuring the three of the leading British stallions: Bobby’s Kitten, Sea the Moon and Study of Man.

To end this special day, you will return to the National Horseracing Museum and after a brief overview, will be free to enjoy the rest of the day learning more about the Sport of Kings as you explore this 5-acre site.

8.45am Meet your tour bus and Guide outside the National Horseracing Museum

9am Enjoy a tour of the famed Warren Hill training grounds and see some of the town’s equine residents going through their paces.

10am Morning Coffee and Biscuits at the Bedford Lodge Hotel

10.45am Depart for Lanwades Stud

11am Arrive at Lanwades Stud for a tour including a Stallion Parade

12.30pm Depart for the National Horseracing Museum where you will receive a £6 lunch voucher to be redeemed at The Tack Room restaurant. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring this impressive 5-acre site at leisure.
